Hey, why no regional chairs in Southwest Virginia. We’re not all Republicans out here. I’m so excited about this but there is no direct route for action. I konw there are other women out here who are also interested. Do you need contacts?

    Dear Nelda,

We are working diligently to shape and staff the Western part of the state and are delighted you are interested in helping. Kindly send me your background info so I can add you to the current regional group. By January we will have clear lines and leadership in place. Thank you!

This isn’t exactly a reply; it is more of a general comment and suggestion. I know the Team is a group in progress–and I look forward to more information on the website.

Particularly, I think profiles of the various leaders, candidates, etc. would be most helpful. These need not be lengthy resumes, but rather brief summaries that would give interested women a sense of who is who (education, profession, interests, accomplishments), not to impress but to inform and to help create a sense of belonging. If we know, we are more likely to commit and to care. Links to the websites of those who have them seem a good idea.

The Team, or any political organizations needs a web wizard or wizards to facilitate everything, as the Obama campaign so brilliantly demonstrated.

I hope I am not on the wrong page here, or have missed the very things I’m asking for!

    Hi Everyone,

I was at Mount Vernon Rehab hospital this afternoon with my mom (Jane Vitray) and she’s making good progress – she is able to move her right arm more each day and the best news is she is moving her right leg. During PT she was able slide her leg from right to left and back on the mat with some effort. Compared to a few days ago – this is an amazing improvement. Please continue to pray for improvement in her mobility.

They cancelled speech therapy because apparently she’s really good at circling “h”s and putting puzzles together. :)

So instead of Speech therapy, they are going to add another Physical Therapy session! As you can imagine she was thrilled (NOT). Mom is in the ARMY now!

After the session this morning, she took a nap – Ofcourse in her defense, they did wake her up at 5:30 for breakfast, so she had good reason to be tired. Please pray that she keeps her energy up and can handle the 3 hours a day of physical therapy.

If you get a chance to call her to chat, please do. In between therapy sessions, it’s not that interesting – the patients can “hang out” in the middle section and watch the nursing staff do their work or they can watch t.v.

Mom’s number in her room is – 703-664-8576

If you’d like to send a card – you can send it to me and I will take it over. She really likes the cards – and reads all of them cover to cover.

Thank you so much for your prayers and encouragement. We still don’t know what the bleed in her brain is (melanoma or contusion from the fall on the ice 3 weeks ago). We probably won’t know for sure until sometime next month when the blood gets reabsorbed and the MRI can see behind it.

    Hi All,
I’m part of the group in Lexington that is trying to grow a team here. I want to join the Farm Team officially, but I can’t figure out from the website how that is done in areas where groups are just getting going. It seems like you should have instructions for that clearly available on every page. I’m the sort of person who has 15 minutes to do this sort of thing come around all of a suddent, and if I can’t get it done, I may not fine another 15 extra minutes for two weeks. I suspect there are others out there.
    Thanks!
    Robin LeBlanc

  7. Ann MacLean Massie says:

I would like to ditto everything Robin LeBlanc said. I want to join The farm Team and understand that others form Lexingotn have done it, but I can’t find any way to join.

    Thank you!

  8. Susan Platt says:

Robin and Ann – all you need to do to join The Farm Team is click on to ActBlue on the right hand side of the front page – then you will see the contribution levels. Thank you so much for your interest. Welcome.

  9. Nanalou W. Sauder says:

    Hi Susan,

Robin is correct. There needs to be another option besides ActBlue. I actually wrote a check for $150 on 26 April – 2 memberships and a contribution. I gave the check to Hazel Bernard who said to “register on the web site giving the check number.” Hazel was driving Mary Sue and that seemed like a good ideal. There was no way on the web site to take care of this other than giving an address to send a check to but no link to registration. I’d like to see the web site be more user friendly.

    Thanks.
