The Farm Team Endorses Sharon Bulova for Re-Election for Chairman of the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors

Despite extremely tough economic times, Sharon Bulova’s dedicated, determined leadership has kept Fairfax County at the top and thriving.  The Farm Team is pleased to announce its endorsement of Chairman Bulova in her re-election campaign for Chairman of the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors.

With challenges that include unprecedented population growth, formidable transportation issues, and threats to funding for education and healthcare, Chairman Bulova’s long and notable history of service to her community and the Commonwealth has been unimpeachable. Her top priorities during her successful tenure have been to address the Tyson’s, Dulles and Richmond Highway transportation challenges, as well as a myriad of other acute budgetary concerns confronting Fairfax County during the economic downturn.

A Northern Virginia resident for more than 40 years, Ms. Bulova has served as a past chairman of the Northern Virginia Regional Commission, an organization that addresses metropolitan area concerns.  She is a founder of the VRE commuter rail, and under her administration, transportation via commuter rails has improved dramatically.

Before being elected Chairman of the Board in 2009, she was the Supervisor of the Braddock District for 19 years.  She also has served as Chairman of the Fairfax County Board’s Budget Committee for 19 of her 23 years in office

In addition, Ms. Bulova has started several community initiatives, including Fairfax County’s Initiative to Prevent and End Homelessness, and the Private Sector Energy Task Force, which forms strategies for the community to be more energy efficient and use “green” technology.  As Chairman of the Business Round Table Discussion Group, Ms. Bulova helped develop policies and procedures for speeding up the economic recovery of the Fairfax area and proposed ideas for new development opportunities.

The Farm Team believes that Ms. Bulova’s unmatched experience, leadership skills and dedication to her community and Commonwealth make her the obvious choice to be re-elected Chairman of the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors.
