In just a few short weeks, the January 12th special election in Fairfax County’s 37th Senate District will chart the course for our Commonwealth for years to come. Republicans have been energized by their 2009 victories, and there is only one thing standing between them and the destruction of the progress we have made over the last eight years – our narrow, one-seat Democratic majority in the Senate. We can continue to fight for our values and our future, but we need your help.
Our Democratic nominee in the 37th, Dave Marsden, has spent his entire career working to make Fairfax County and the Commonwealth of Virginia a better place for all of us. Dave is a thoughtful legislator, a leader who focuses on results, not partisanship. In his four years as a member of the Virginia House of Delegates, Dave has always stood up to fight for women and children’s rights in Virginia.
With a track record of fighting to keep Fairfax safe, over 30 years working in juvenile justice issues, and a 100% backer of a woman’s right to choose, Dave is just the type of leader we need in the State Senate.
The Senate will be the last line of defense against those who want to advance an extremist and partisan agenda at the expense of the Commonwealth. We must not allow Virginia to become a one-party controlled, Republican-dominated state. Through our work in the Senate, we will keep Virginia moving forward and continue to fight for our values. Yeah…what she said, and even more for Bill Fleming who is bravely carrying the Democratic banner in Virginia Beach’s Eighth Senatorial District.
There are enough Democrats and Independents to propel both of these candidates to victory here in Virginia. Democrats as far North as Henrico are pitching-in for Bill Fleming. It doesn’t matter if you don’t live in either district. If you can, pitch-in and make a difference in these two races, and in Virginia.
