August campaign update- Vanderhye for Delegate

vanderhye

As the dog days of August come and go, I wanted to touch base with you about all of the exciting things going on in our campaign and the upcoming events and opportunities we have to share with you.

  • Canvassing and Voter Contact: Margi and volunteers continue to knock on doors on a daily basis. Everyone is getting a tremendous response from voters, who are excited to hear about what our campaign is doing, what Margi has done since being elected and share issues that concern them most.  Canvassing is one of the best parts of campaigning and Margi looks forward to it every day. If you would like to canvass your neighborhood, click here.
  •  Volunteers in the office: Our office has also been bustling with volunteer activity.  We have volunteers in the office on a regular basis making phone calls, entering data, stuffing envelopes and picking up yard signs to distribute to peoples homes across the district. If you want to join in on the fun, please click here, or email our field director at john@vanderhye.com
  • Yard Signs and Bumper stickers: Our yard signs and bumper stickers arrived at the beginning of the summer and we are seeing them pop up all across the district.  If you would like to put a yard sign in your yard or a bumper sticker on your car, please click here and provide us with your information.
  • Absentee Voting: The Fairfax County Board of Elections is now accepting absentee ballot application requests. If you or someone you know needs an absentee ballot application, please email our campaign at john@vanderhye.com and we will get one to you as soon as possible.  In 2007 Margi won the absentee vote and we are committed to making that happen again this November.
  • Upcoming Events: Coming up in September we have several very exciting events going on with the campaign. We will have a BBQ with Senator Jim Webb on September 13th from 1-3pm at the home of Cliff and Terri Gibbons and a fundraiser with Tim Kaine on September 29th from 6:30 to 8:30 pm at the home of Jan and Elizabeth Lodal.  To  RSVP to these events, please email our finance director at Karen@vanderhye.com, or to see other events that are coming up for the campaign, please click here.

As the summer winds down and we gear up for the hectic campaign schedule of September and October, we wanted to take this opportunity to tell you how much we appreciate the help of supporters like you. We have a fight ahead of us and we will need not only your time, but the time of your neighbors and friends to make sure we send Margi back to Richmond in 2010.  If you have any questions about the campaign, please feel free to email me at Julia@vanderhye.com.

As always, thanks for all you do,

Julia Druhan
Campaign Manager
Vanderhye for Delegate
