One of the links in our blogroll to the right is Women’s Voices for Change.  With so much of Iran in the news, today that site features the life and poetry of Forugh Farrokhzad.

Poet, filmmaker and a national iconoclast until her death in 1967, Forugh Farrokhzād (Persian: فروغ فرخزاد)(also spelled as Forough) was arguably Iran’s most  significant female poet of the twentieth century.

After talking to Carole Pratt for five minutes, it is pretty clear why she has been so successful generating support so early in her campaign. She’s straightforward, gutsy, incredibly qualified, knowledgeable about the issues, and cheerfully inexhaustible. Carole Pratt is the Farm Team endorsed candidate for the House of Delegates in the 6th District.
