DFA Campaign training in Newport News

Democracy for America is bringing their campaign training to Newport News. From the event website:

Ten reasons to attend the DFA Campaign Academy training in Newport News this March 14th & 15th:

  1. Learn how to plan and run a winning grassroots campaign
  2. Meet and hear from local progressive candidates
  3. Learn from trainers with decades of experience
  4. Mingle with other local progressive activists at social events
  5. Get a copy of our 180 page Grassroots Campaign Training Manual
  6. Set goals and make plans to pass progressive legislation
  7. Re-connect with old friends from the campaign
  8. Help elect progressive mayors, city council members and other municipal offices in 2009
  9. Learn to organize your neighborhood or precinct
  10. Look for a new job or volunteer opportunity

The training costs just $60 for the two days and it is a wonderful opportunity to learn a lot about grassroots organizing. I know that DFA member Linda Brooks has been trying for a number of years to get this training in our area. Already, more than 60 people have signed up to attend. Space is limited so if you want to go, head on over and sign up.

    thanks viv for getting this out. Jim Dean will be there to open up the training.
    This is a great opportunity in our area to get the training we need!!
